Commercial Shoot - Creative Cupcakes

I contacted Georgia to see if she would be interested in having some photos taken to help promote her newly opened shop, Creative Cupcakes. To my delight Georgia was interested and we arranged a date. What I was aiming for was to supply Georgia with a set of photographs that she would be able use for promoting her business via social media, leaflets and cards. The style of photos that I aimed for were a lifestyle feel with Georgia at work in her beautiful little shop. I feel the shoot went really well and I am very happy that Georgia is pleased with the end results. I would highly recomm[...]

Lifestyle Shoot - Fleetwood Fishermen

I had been looking to do a lifestyle shoot aboard the Sursum Corda aka Rio for around 6 months, however, finding the correct weather and at the time I was planning to shoot was all down to Mother Nature and boy, did she make me wait. The conditions I had been waiting for was to have a fairly calm sea because I did not want to end up with a bunch of blurred photographs due to the motion of the boat throwing myself and the camera around. Also, I was hoping to have nice clouds in the sky with some nice sunlight. To me there is nothing worse than an empty bland sky, clouds add so much more to a[...]

Portrait Shoot - The Guitarist

The idea for the shoot came from a passing comment by my wife when she mentioned that Adam a young guitarist studying music at Leeds University may be interested in having a few photos taken, so, I decided to send Adam a message to see if he would be interested and within minutes Adam had replied saying he was. I meet up with Adam a few days later to talk over a few ideas I had been thinking about and also to see if he had anything he would like to try.... So, fast forward a week and it was 8:30 on the morning of the shoot. I had all the props ready so all I had to do now was setup the[...]

Stacie - Before and After

First of all let me say that Stacie the model and Nicci who did the make up and hair are both fantastic at what they do which made my life so much easier in the editing stage. The editing process consisted of.. Removing any blemishes in the skin. Smoothing the skin a little whilst trying not to loose all detail. Bring out the shadows and details in the eyes. Touch up the lipstick where needed. Bring out the detail in the hair using sharpness and enhancing the dark areas. Enhance the detail in the hat and gloves Finally I added a texture to the background and a small vignet[...]

The whole place was stripped back to the bare bones or very badly decayed. Apart from a few old files and boxes the place was basically empty. The saving grace for me was the graffiti that adorned the walls in a ro[...]
