There are some amazing photographers within the L&CPU so I did not have my hopes set high..... Anyway, as I was saying the news that made me smile this morning was the results for the competition... Out off around 250 entrants in the Colour PDI section I managed to rank joint 5th! ..... 5th, I could not be happier, finishing in the top 5 was way higher than I had ever hoped to be. The i[...]

Alder Hey Childrens Hospital

Alder Hey Children's Hospital Visited with: Alex Visit Date: August 2016 Please Note: Entry is always through an open access point and not by forcing our way in….. We are explorers, not vandals. My Visit I have to say that this visit one was of mixed emotions, the deadly quiet of this once bustling hospital allowed the mind to wander and wander it did. I could not help but feel sad at the thought of the pain, heartache and worry that so many children, parents and staff will have had to bare here over the years..... But then, a feeling of happiness, a happiness that a child is getti[...]

Club Competition - PDI 3 Results 2018

After a successful start to the PDI competitions this year at the club I found myself in the lead going into the final competition of the year. All I had to do to retain the trophy this year was to score a few points to keep myself out of reach of those close behind me. I created a blog post a while back showing my results of the PDI1 and PDI2 results which be seen by clicking here. So, I entered 3 images that I hoped would gain me a few points and keep me clear of the 2nd & 3rd place members going into PDI3. Two of my images got good comments from the judge but failed to score... that l[...]

Construction began in 1882, 135 years ago at the time of my visit in 2017. The current estimated completion date is 2026 - 2028 but this will more than likely change. Information In 1882 construction of Sagrada Família commenced under architect Francisco Paula de Villar until 1883, when Gaudí became involved when Francisco resigned as the head architect. Taking over the project, Gaudí transformed it with his architectural and engineering style, combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms.
